We are currently looking for a Head of Design. Essentially we’re looking for someone with ambition who can lead and help take our growing design team to the next level. The successful individual will have the vision and drive necessary to develop and lead our talented design team, both creatively and commercially. You’ll have a great eye for modern, effective, beautiful UI and UX, and understand how this supports successful web and mobile products.
The Head of Design role at Atomic is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of our design and creative output. It's a leadership role, with accountability for all design output and commercial success of the design and creative department. With experience in managing people, you will enjoy being involved in the day to day whilst maintaining the ability to consider the bigger picture and develop your team. You will have experience of working in Agile project teams and enjoy close collaboration with technical planners, product owners and developers, ensuring design and creative deliverables are aligned to client expectations and executed within budget and timescales. It also involves working closely with our clients, understanding their needs, presenting work and building their trust to cement Atomic’s reputation for being their trusted design and software development partner.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

At least 8 years of experience working in a senior Design role within the digital design industry - preferably within an agency environment

A killer portfolio which demonstrates a broad range of mobile and web design projects

Strong team management skills - proven team leader

Ability to lead design projects for web and mobile from concept to completion

Excellent working knowledge of UX and Interaction design

A good understanding of mobile and web technologies

Experience with responsive design

Advanced design and prototyping skills using a variety of tools and methods - we work mainly in Figma and Sketch

Reliably estimate the design part of a project to a reasonable level of accuracy based on your extensive experience

Ensure design projects are delivered efficiently by the whole team, within budget and timeframes

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and direct multiple projects

Excellent written and verbal presentation skills - able to pitch design ideas confidently and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
